Pre Arrival Import Reporting Requirements

There are requirements on imported goods and legislative requirements for reporting conveyances and cargo for shipments arriving via all modes of transportation from Canada known as customs import entries. Importers are required to submit their import documentation within specific time frames, depending on the mode of transportation used to move the goods. We allow the transmission of release data to CBSA, including data for goods that are regulated by a Other Government Departments.

Conveyance, carriage arrival information about the origin of goods, mode of transportation that is carrying the goods and its arrival information about the goods they are carrying must be reported to CBSA via the IID system.

From the place of discharge, a certificate of origin is generated, identifying the tariff treatment applicable to goods, proof of origin determines the value for duty and taxes applicable on goods arriving into Canada.

Before reaching on boarding the carrier, even before they are loaded on to the conveyance, calculating the customs duties and taxes, and reporting accurately to CBSA is important, especially so that importers can evaluate landed costs.

Online tracking updates for pre-arrival information, alert and notifications are submitted to customs agencies, and traced through the system for cargo processed on the IID system.

Commercial sales-agreement identifying the transaction value and exchange is processed according to submission of the commercial invoice between the exporter and vendor. Determining values are complied with according to the Customs Act.

Detailed accounting statements are processed for importers, identifying the remittance amounts, and later applicable refunds and trade incentives applicable for adjustments on their trade data and information. In a single report such reports streamlines export data and provides international trade statistics for businesses.
