Reporting Requirements for Importers and with Government Departments
Through the Importer Security Filing program Importers are capable of reporting shipments destined to the United States, processing import procedures for multimodal transportation modes and with Participating Government Agencies. The system is intended to better assess and identify high-risk goods and to prevent controlled goods (i.e. narcotics, controlled substances and weapons) and materials from entering the United States.
Security Filing Reviews
Prearrival review requirements are imposed with the implementation of security filing initiatives such as 10 + 2. There is a 24-hour rule and prior notice review system requirement, and within the time frames for providing cargo and conveyance information to US-CBP have been established and adhered to.
